Scripture of the Day

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Something to often ignored.

People can turn their back on righteouness, they can deny morality and embrace wickedness. But one thing remains true, when the righteous rule people do rejoice because they know justice will prevail.

Scripture of the Day

Hebrew 11

36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 Of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

In the Hall of Faith, not everyone was able to shut the mouths of lions nor were all blessed with calling fire down from the heavens.

In fact, this part of the Chapter was the lot that fell for most saint throughout history.

Our Savior said do not be surprised if the world hates you because it hated Him first.

So remember, our lot in Christ is no guarantee of a soft & easy life. We need to be prepared for persecution, hatred, broken families, and bitterness from a lost and dying world.

All the while we need to keep our faith and endure until the end, praising God in our blessings in times of peace and adversity.

Isaiah 57 1&2

Isaiah 57
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. 2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

Psalms 6

Psalms 6
To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.
O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. 3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? 4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake. 5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? 6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. 7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. 8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. 10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.

Scripture of the Day

John 14
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Scripture of the Day

Judges 12:6 Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

Sometimes its as easy as this to determine who enemies are. Simply by listening to how they speak; word usage, inflection, & intonation. If someone claims to be one of faith yet by their own mouth they betray who they really are in their heart.

Our Savior stated in Luke 6: 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

The last part of the verse is the key to understand the concept altogether. Our heart is what directs our words. If our hearts are good or evil its expressed by our mouth.

In Israel the test in the verse mentioned was as simple as a Si• or Sh•. Today we could say its as simple as listening to someone to see if the bless or curse. Sometimes its that easy, sometimes not, because everyone stumbles at some point, that stumble may include a curse but that person could just as easily ask for forgiveness without saying a word.

So listen to words but do not be quick to judge, ours is a bit more complicated than the Si• or Sh•.

A Good Morning

Genesis 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

On the third day the Father gave us land and the seas, grass and all plants and trees.

So remember on a Tuesday you walk on dry land because the Creator designed it and made it so.

Also, on this day He created coffee from which mankind was blessed with the nectar of the bean.

The morning scents of honeysuckle filling ones kitchen while sitting on a wooden chair crafted from white oak, as your morning begins.

And He saw that it was good” we read in verse twelve, and it is good.

Thank you Lord for another day, Praise and Bless the name of the Lord.

Scripture of the Day: A lesson learned

Exodus 14:3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. 4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

All to often political leaders ignore those self-evident truths that GOD places before them. As we read in the verses above, even after all of the plagues in Egypt and the deaths of thousands the political establishment could not reconcile the fact that GOD does requite justice for evil or that they were in fact part of that evil.

As you can read, the military followed the orders of their corrupt leaders even after seeing hundreds of thousands of their fellow citizens and families fall because of the LORDs judgments. We should take this example and make it applicable to the situation today in the west. As the various judgments fall on the nations for their sins the political leaders will harden their hearts and the military will follow orders. Running headlong into their own eventual destruction.

Judgment comes to all nations in GOD’s time, not ours. The US may have been founded on Christian principles, standards, & ethics; but this country has stepped far away from those Old Paths which lead to its greatness.

Now America is one of the leading countries in exporting pornagraphy,  murder, deceit, lies, sodomy, all kinds of vice and evil and most of the corruption around the world has its network of support based and/or origin in the US.

Morality is denigrated and thrown aside, the name of Christ and the Father are disdained when mentioned. Thousands of Christians are being killed and enslaved around the world because of corrupted leadership and business interests.

Families are being destroyed and the righteous are being pushed to the periphery of society and marginslized as extremists. Righteousness is being trodden under the feet of an apathetic populace, the same apathy that led to those citizens of Egypt following their political leaders to their own destruction.

So what can we expect? Turning verse four abit, we could read it like this:

And I will harden President’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon the President, and upon all his host; that the Americans may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

So a lesson learned? Perhaps by some but not by most. Never trust wicked political leaders, it will eventually lead to a nations destruction.

The end.

Sitting & Thinking

I wonder sometimes how those calling themselves Christian can so easily dismiss Scriptural truths but I guess it’s symptomatic of the fact that sin has entered the Churches and people have again become “dull of hearing” and simply ignore the truth of sin, of righteousness, and judgment.

Judgment begins in the house & family of GOD. We are suppose to be that light shining in the darkness of sin, but we are extinguishing those lights one after another letting sin and wickedness grow.

So to Christians, repent of our apathy and humble ourselves before a Living Savior.
