Since I do not have a college degree, something our self-professed “..learn-ed..” (The adjective is pronounced with two syllables.) society deems qualifies someone’s opinion to be valid or qualifies their discussion to be considered worthy of notice; I will write these discourses as a proud professing layman which can be understood as mentioned in the definition number two … ” a person without professional or specialized knowledge in a particular subject.”
My knowledge comes from over thirty years of what can be considered private study in Religion, History, and Politics; with a smattering of Philosophy and Psychology thrown in to spice up the proverbial search for and understanding of truth.
For a brief personal declaration, first and foremost I an a fundamentalist, Bible-believing, independent Christian who has a disdain for organized religion of the state. I believe these words here can sum up what my belief system is when a person is praised by the general public or masses of people and the secular world as a whole.
Luke 6:26 “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.”
I believe this indicates that when a person of faith is spoken of and held in high regards by the secular world then there is something wrong. As shown here in scripture we read the following;
John 15:18 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.”
John 15:19 “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
Also here we read concerning our Lords statement about the world hating Him;
John 15:25 ” But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.”
In these verses alone, and also in many others, we can easily see that the “world” is going to hate the name of Christ, it is going to hate those who believe in that name and who love and follow His teachings.
The name of Jesus Christ is one of the most hated and vilified names in history. Wars throughout the world have been fought by those professing to believe in His name, entire regions of the world have been decimated and depopulated by those warring against people who profess to believe in His name.
Humans both warring against and for that Name are recorded in the annals of history for people to read. It is one the world itself hates, yet it is the one Name under which millions have found what the true meaning of Love is. That Love which can only be known from having a relationship with a living and loving Creator GOD, our Heavenly Father, the Great I Am.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
1Thesselonians 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
1Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
1John 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
1John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
1John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
2John 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
So without further ado welcome and let me introduce you to the Layman’s Discourse.
