Freedom

free·dom/ˈfrēdəm/

noun

The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.

Freedom is one of those attributes which our Creator has endowed us with. We all have this ability, whether human or angelic, this ability is something that proves our Father loves us.

Freedom allows us to choose good or evil, knowledge and wisdom, or ignorance and foolishness. Freedom allows us the right to obey or to disobey, to act and react, to help heal or to cause harm. All of our lives, in all things we do, we are naturally endowed with this primary motivator called freedom.

The problem arises when we make freedom itself godlike, meaning we make our freedom a “holy right” instead of understanding it as a “natural right”.

GOD gave all freedom, it isn’t reserved soley for saints, but it exists for both saint and sinner alike to utilize as they see fit.

Freedom exists because GOD didn’t create automatrons, HE wanted HIS creation to have the ability to choose, whether they chose right or wrong HIS creation has the ability to direct their own future.

Does GOD restrict freedom? In a certain perspective yes, but in all honesty no.

In the minds of the selfish and ignorant, yes. Because they have chosen to make their own selfish desires number one in their lives and have no other inclination to look beyond themselves.

But to those who desire to put their Creators desires before their own, those people experience the true meaning of freedom. How? Because they exist with purpose and meaning, they have they ability to choose right over wrong, and they experience truly what love is. They exist in light and can see truth from lies, to those people freedom exists to follow their Creator, their Savior, their GOD. Freedom exists to do good, help, heal, care for others, to love their neighbor, etc.

Freedom is part of the natural order of existence GOD created.

Scripture of the Day

Philippians 3

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Underground Bishops to be recognised by government

The most difficult problem in the dialogue is, perhaps, how to deal with the more than 30 underground Bishops.

Feb 17, 2017

The most difficult problem in the dialogue is, perhaps, how to deal with the more than 30 underground Bishops.

The legitimacy of the government-sanctioned Bishops’ Conference of the Catholic Church in China depends on the inclusion of all legitimately ordained bishops, not just some of them.

Undoubtedly, the Holy See will make the request that all the bishops from the unofficial communities be recruited into it as well.

The underground church is the result of a special political and historical period. The underground bishops only choose to act differently from their counterparts in the open church according to their understanding of Catholic doctrine. As a matter of fact, the government attitude towards the unofficial communities has changed a lot in recent years.

For most, only their identity and administrative rights are unrecognized.

The key to solving this problem is trust between these bishops themselves and the government. Beijing will perhaps ask them to declare explicitly their positions on the Constitution of China, its laws, and policies. As long as the government does not require an “independent, autonomous, and self-run church” anymore, and the “self-nomination and self-ordination” of bishops, all these are not problems for them.

Waiting for entire freedom or holding firmly to the essential freedom, China and the Vatican have already reached a consensus on bishops’ appointments. Based on this agreement, the problems of the future of the CCPA, the legitimacy of the illicit bishops in the official Church community, the recognition of the underground bishops by Beijing and the establishment of the bishops’ conference are going to be resolved.

Then, there will be no more the crisis of division between the open and underground communities. They will gradually move towards reconciliation and work together to preach the Gospel in China.

However, there is an unoptimistic aspect to the agreement. Such a viewpoint states that the issue of the China Church is not an individual issue; it is closely related to the problems of other ethnic groups and religions; for instance, the problems of Tibet, Xinjiang and the autonomy of nationalities.

It would be inappropriate to mix the problems of Catholics with the problems involving Tibet and Xinjiang, as they are not simply problems of religious freedom but more about problems of territory and sovereignty.

As a religious institution, the China Church seeks to live out and witness her belief in China. The concern of the Holy See and the China Church is whether there is room for freedom of religion to practice her belief.

The Catholic Church has her own particular administrative system, the hierarchy. Compared with other religions in China, it has a distinguishing feature, which is the bishops’ appointment. When Beijing handles this unique problem of the Catholic Church, she will not implicate other religions in it.

“The freedom for the Pope to appoint bishops” is part of the religious freedom of the Catholic Church, which has originated from her fundamental doctrines. The lack of the ways to spread the faith, to establish educational institutions and to own Church property will not threaten or harm the nature of the China Church.

If Beijing is now ready to reach an agreement with the Holy See, the China Church will enjoy an essential freedom, albeit not complete freedom.

The choices in front of us are either to embrace the essential freedom now and become an imperfect, but true Church, then struggle for complete freedom in the hope of moving towards a perfect church, or we give up essential freedom and have nothing at all, and then wait for complete freedom — but no one knows when this will ever happen.

In fact, the moral principle of the Church teaches us to choose the lesser of two evils. Under the principle of healthy realism that Pope Francis teaches us, it is clear which path the China Church ought to take. –La Croix

Report warns Christians in Egypt face increasing persecution

Report warns Christians in Egypt face increasing persecution

Thu 16 Feb 2017

By Premier Journalist

A new report has found that violence against Christians is on the rise in Egypt.

The study by Christian Solidarity Worldwide documented that since 2011 there has been a rise in the number of blasphemy cases brought against Christians and that perpetrators of attacks against religious minorities generally enjoy impunity.

The report also found there are still serious restrictions on church-building in the country.

The publication of the report coincides with the second anniversary of the beheading of 21 Coptic Christians on an Egyptian beach in an Islamic State video.

The charity’s Egypt Advocacy Officer – who can’t be named for security reasons – told Premier News Hour that they are working with the Egyptian government to help improve the situation for Christians.

“There will be an attack on a community, the security services may know about it before hand and do nothing, there’s precious little follow up for the Christian community in terms of justice.”

He added: “We’re making recommendations to try and encourage the Egyptian government in everything they’ve done well but also pointing out to everyone here that there are serious areas of concern where we want to see the Egyptian government do better.”

Egypt’s Coptic Christian community is still recovering after Islamic State suicide bombers murdered 27 believers at St George’s Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo in December.

The country is number 21 on the Open Doors’ World Watch List of the 50 most difficult countries in the world to be a Christian.

Post Election Wannabe Commentary

With the election results in and The Donald heading toward the White House the US is set to experience a time unprecedented in its short history.

His choices todate for cabinet positions should clearly show the direction he intends on taking this country.

We have so-called hawks who want to fight terrorism abroad and at the same time want increased surviellance powers against American citizens.

It was the republicrats who brought us the patriot act 1 &2, it was the the same group who brought us indefinite detention with Obama’s NDAA. They brought forth the conceptualisation of enhanced interrogation or “torture”, putting it into practice and fine tuning the policestate in America.

Now Christians, who have been marginalized for since the 80’s are giving this president elect their unwavering support. To me, that is the most frightening aspect of the incoming administration, their willingness to toss forth the idea that torture is good.

Do Christians really think they are immune to the policestate or its surrogates? If so it would seem as if sanity just jumped off the cliff.

Christians are never immune to persecution, in fact they were the most persecuted group in the last century. To give unwavering support to one who advances the idea of torture, to me, is a grave mistake.

Do I think Trump is better than Hillary? By leaps and bounds, but the scenario is being setup for a nosedive into the dung heap of the neoconservative worldview.

A view of a Pax Americana without repentance or turnimg from sin. Wickedness may be manifested in politics, but that same evil originates in the heart of a person.

So unless there is true national repentance, no amount of Trumpery is going to change a thing.

Scripture of the Day

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Something to often ignored.

People can turn their back on righteouness, they can deny morality and embrace wickedness. But one thing remains true, when the righteous rule people do rejoice because they know justice will prevail.

Scripture of the Day

Hebrew 11

36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 Of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

In the Hall of Faith, not everyone was able to shut the mouths of lions nor were all blessed with calling fire down from the heavens.

In fact, this part of the Chapter was the lot that fell for most saint throughout history.

Our Savior said do not be surprised if the world hates you because it hated Him first.

So remember, our lot in Christ is no guarantee of a soft & easy life. We need to be prepared for persecution, hatred, broken families, and bitterness from a lost and dying world.

All the while we need to keep our faith and endure until the end, praising God in our blessings in times of peace and adversity.

Isaiah 57 1&2

Isaiah 57
The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. 2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

Psalms 6

Psalms 6
To the chief Musician on Neginoth upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.
O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. 2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. 3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? 4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake. 5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? 6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. 7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. 8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. 9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. 10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.

Scripture of the Day

John 14
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Scripture of the Day

Judges 12:6 Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.

Sometimes its as easy as this to determine who enemies are. Simply by listening to how they speak; word usage, inflection, & intonation. If someone claims to be one of faith yet by their own mouth they betray who they really are in their heart.

Our Savior stated in Luke 6: 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

The last part of the verse is the key to understand the concept altogether. Our heart is what directs our words. If our hearts are good or evil its expressed by our mouth.

In Israel the test in the verse mentioned was as simple as a Si• or Sh•. Today we could say its as simple as listening to someone to see if the bless or curse. Sometimes its that easy, sometimes not, because everyone stumbles at some point, that stumble may include a curse but that person could just as easily ask for forgiveness without saying a word.

So listen to words but do not be quick to judge, ours is a bit more complicated than the Si• or Sh•.

A Good Morning

Genesis 1:9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

On the third day the Father gave us land and the seas, grass and all plants and trees.

So remember on a Tuesday you walk on dry land because the Creator designed it and made it so.

Also, on this day He created coffee from which mankind was blessed with the nectar of the bean.

The morning scents of honeysuckle filling ones kitchen while sitting on a wooden chair crafted from white oak, as your morning begins.

And He saw that it was good” we read in verse twelve, and it is good.

Thank you Lord for another day, Praise and Bless the name of the Lord.

Scripture of the Day: A lesson learned

Exodus 14:3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. 4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

All to often political leaders ignore those self-evident truths that GOD places before them. As we read in the verses above, even after all of the plagues in Egypt and the deaths of thousands the political establishment could not reconcile the fact that GOD does requite justice for evil or that they were in fact part of that evil.

As you can read, the military followed the orders of their corrupt leaders even after seeing hundreds of thousands of their fellow citizens and families fall because of the LORDs judgments. We should take this example and make it applicable to the situation today in the west. As the various judgments fall on the nations for their sins the political leaders will harden their hearts and the military will follow orders. Running headlong into their own eventual destruction.

Judgment comes to all nations in GOD’s time, not ours. The US may have been founded on Christian principles, standards, & ethics; but this country has stepped far away from those Old Paths which lead to its greatness.

Now America is one of the leading countries in exporting pornagraphy,  murder, deceit, lies, sodomy, all kinds of vice and evil and most of the corruption around the world has its network of support based and/or origin in the US.

Morality is denigrated and thrown aside, the name of Christ and the Father are disdained when mentioned. Thousands of Christians are being killed and enslaved around the world because of corrupted leadership and business interests.

Families are being destroyed and the righteous are being pushed to the periphery of society and marginslized as extremists. Righteousness is being trodden under the feet of an apathetic populace, the same apathy that led to those citizens of Egypt following their political leaders to their own destruction.

So what can we expect? Turning verse four abit, we could read it like this:

And I will harden President’s heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon the President, and upon all his host; that the Americans may know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

So a lesson learned? Perhaps by some but not by most. Never trust wicked political leaders, it will eventually lead to a nations destruction.

The end.
